Happy New Year

Sorry if I haven't responded to e-mails and comments lately, I've been away for the holiday. But, I'm back - With a tripod (finally) and a new lens!
So, I decided to test those out tonight, and came up with this photo over Awbrey Butte. It's a little blurry, and a little blown-out around the houses, but all in all, I'm pretty pleased with my first night shot with a tripod!

Sunset

Well, I really wasn't sure about posting this photo. The sunset was gorgeous tonight, but I really liked the full mountain view. In order to get that range I had to take the photo from the deck, but the trees are partially blocking the view. After getting some friends' opinions, I decided to post it anyways.  The trees are obstructing the view, but it was still an extremely pretty sunset.

Outside the Window

I've been seeing these birds more and more outside my window, and finally decided to snap a picture. The vivid blue color is stunning.

Perfect Day for a Snowman

I woke up to about 4" of new snow this morning, and I thought this would be the perfect time to build my first snowman of the year! If you're in Bend right now, enjoy the snow!

Wildflowers in the Old Mill

The first stop during the Photography Tour Workshop was at the Old Mill wildflowers. After explaining which settings work best, and lighting techniques, we spent about 20 minutes testing and practicing what worked for me and my camera.

Clear skies, perfect for star gazing

Why post with just pictures of stars? Well, for one, I had never successfully been able to capture the stars when I tried to take a picture. And two, I really like how clear the big dipper is in the first photo. Enjoy!
If anybody is able to identify a constellation in the bottom picture, feel free to comment!

The moon tonight

The moon looks amazing tonight!

Joan Osborne Concert & Dinner

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Joan Osborne concert at the Athletic Club of Bend. To put it simply, it was amazing!
She was such an active and engaging performer, it was hard to get pictures that didn't have blur/movement.

(above) Starting the night out. She has such an amazing voice!
(above) Dancing!

The tickets I won also included dinner, which ended up being so fun, and delicious!
